Lot 140:
Description
A vintage cast iron Dutch oven comprising a round-bodied pot, a matching domed lid, and a wire bail handle. The pot is designed with a flat bottom and two integral side ears for handle attachment. The domed lid features a cast-in loop handle and an interior surface with concentric rows of small, pointed self-basting nodules. The top of the lid bears a raised numeral 8 near the handle. An indeterminate character is present on the underside of one side tab, though it is not clearly legible. The specific configuration of the basting nodules is characteristic of pieces produced by the Birmingham Stove and Range Company (BSR).
