Description
68 x 80 This is a vintage American pieced quilt top, likely dating from the mid-20th century. The item is an unfinished textile, lacking batting, backing, and binding. The design features a series of repeating Pieced Basket or Fruit Basket motif blocks. Each block is constructed with a large solid-colored triangular base and a collection of smaller half-square triangles forming the top. The blocks utilize various printed cotton or cotton-blend fabrics including florals, polka dots, stripes, and abstract patterns. The individual blocks are joined together with solid off-white or cream-colored sashing and borders using machine or hand-piecing construction. The reverse side reveals raw seam allowances.
