Lot 430:
Description
84 x 88 A handmade patchwork scrap quilt constructed from numerous small cotton fabric squares. The squares are arranged in a grid-based assembly to create a concentric diamond pattern, often identified as a Trip Around the World variation. The piece features a diverse collection of late 20th-century fabrics, including floral calicos, ginghams, stripes, and solid-colored patches in a primary palette of blue, pink, green, and cream. The entire quilt is hand-quilted with a diagonal diamond cross-hatch pattern. The reverse is finished with a solid cream-colored cotton fabric. One corner of the reverse features hand-embroidered characters in red thread. Transcription of markings: E W 2 – 2000.
