Description
78 x 90 This is a hand-pieced quilt top featuring a variation of the Snowball pattern, likely dating from the mid-20th century. The textile is constructed from pink and off-white lightweight cotton or cotton-blend fabrics. The design consists of large off-white octagonal blocks, created by adding pink triangular pieces to the corners of square blocks, alternating with nine-patch checkerboard blocks in pink and off-white. The piece is hand-stitched throughout using white thread. The reverse side reveals the construction process, showing visible raw seam allowances and hand-sewn stitches, which confirms the item is an unlayered quilt top and not a finished, quilted bedding item.
