Description
19 x 21, 18 x 29 This lot consists of three quilted textile items. The first is a rectangular quilted cotton wall hanging produced by Glen Appin of Scotland. The panel features a printed illustration of a bagpiper in full Highland dress standing before the Ross Fountain and Edinburgh Castle. The top is titled AMAZING GRACE, and the bottom half contains the full lyrics to the hymn set against a bright green background. It is finished with a black border featuring white musical notes and instruments. Marks printed along the bottom edge include ALL COTTON, GLEN APPIN Regd. HT 496, and MADE IN UNITED KINGDOM. The remaining two items are a pair of circular quilted pot holders or trivets. Each is constructed from white quilted fabric with red, white, and blue striped fabric binding and includes a small red hanging loop. One features a line-art portrait of George Washington, labeled 1st President with dates 1789-1797 and a reproduced signature. The second features a line-art portrait of Abraham Lincoln, labeled 16th President with dates 1861-1865 and a reproduced signature. The reverse sides of the pot holders are plain white quilted fabric.
