Description
Approx 16 x 28 This lot comprises four vintage printed textiles. The first item is a printed linen tea towel featuring a bold Northwest Coast Indigenous style eagle design in black and red. Below the graphic is a narrative titled STORY OF THE EAGLE recounting a mythological tale of transformation. The bottom margin is marked PRINTED IN CANADA and A PANORAMA PRODUCT. The reverse side of this towel features a red print with white heart and floral motifs in wavy lines. The second item is a rectangular quilted textile titled A Kitchen Prayer. The central poem is framed by colorful illustrations of various fruits including grapes, strawberries, watermelon, and apples. It is finished with a black fabric border and features a white diamond-stitched quilted backing. The third item is a rectangular quilted textile featuring botanical illustrations of nine potted houseplants. Each plant is labeled with its common name: Ti Plant, Wax Plant, Southern Yew, Zebra Plant, Mock Orange, Tree Ivy, Hurricane, Lady Palm, and Caladium. It is finished with a pink fabric border and white diamond-stitched quilted backing. The fourth item is a rectangular quilted textile featuring a grid of various kitchen and botanical motifs. The vignettes include mushrooms, a basket of pears, a floral tureen, chili peppers, salt and pepper shakers, and a fruit bowl. It is finished with a pale green fabric border and white diamond-stitched quilted backing.
