Description
12 x 12, 15 x 28 This collection of vintage quilted textile panels includes a variety of decorative techniques and motifs. One rectangular panel features three horizontal bands of hand-appliqued baskets in multicolored calico prints, separated by rows of hand-quilted heart designs on a cream ground with peach-colored binding. An elongated rectangular piece is constructed from a printed fabric featuring large blue roses and buds on a pale blue and white striped ground, finished with a dark blue binding and a machine-quilted diamond pattern. Another rectangular panel features a central printed graphic of a yellow vintage open-top automobile with the license plate IK872 in a landscape setting, bordered by light mint green fabric and finished with hand-quilted echo stitching. A square panel features a large central hand-appliqued four-petaled pink flower with a yellow center and four green leaves at the corners, set against a cream background with dense hand-quilted clamshell stitching. The pieces are composed of cotton fabrics and batting.
