Description
60 x 74 An American patchwork scrap quilt featuring a Nine-Patch variation design. The piece is constructed from a diverse assortment of mid-to-late 20th-century textiles including solid-colored cottons in orange, red, and yellow, houndstooth check patterns, striped shirting, and various floral prints. The Nine-Patch blocks are organized in horizontal rows and separated by vertical orange sashing strips and horizontal bands of floral and geometric patterned fabrics. The quilt features machine-stitched quilting in an all-over spiral or swirl motif. The reverse is finished with a plain off-white cotton backing, and the edges are bound with a small floral print.
