Antiques Quilts and Toppers
Lot 167A:
Description
84 x 90 This item is an unfinished hand-pieced quilt top featuring the Grandmother’s Flower Garden pattern, also known as Honeycomb. The piece is constructed from various cotton fabrics, including assorted calico floral prints, solid colors, and gingham patterns. The design consists of multiple floral rosettes formed by hexagonal patches. Each rosette features a central hexagon surrounded by a ring of solid-colored petals, which is then encased in a ring of patterned or contrasting fabric. These floral motifs are set into a continuous ground composed of white hexagonal pieces. The entire top is assembled using hand-stitched seams, with raw seam allowances and visible hand-stitching appearing on the reverse side.
