Description
History of Washington County, Pennsylvania, with Biographical Sketches of Many of its Pioneers and Prominent Men. Edited by Boyd Crumrine and published in Philadelphia by L. H. Everts & Co. in 1882. The volume was printed by the Press of J. B. Lippincott & Co. This large-format quarto volume is bound in what appears to be original dark-maroon leather featuring ornate gilded borders and a central gilt title block on the front board. The work provides a comprehensive account of the county history, organized by township and borough, and includes extensive biographical records of local figures. It is illustrated with full-page lithographic plates, portraits, and scenes, including a view of Trinity Hall Boarding School for Boys.
