Description
A double-sided lithographed tin target board produced by Louis Marx and Co. The square-shaped board features multi-colored graphics on both sides. The front side depicts characters from the Dick Tracy comic strip, including Dick Tracy in his signature yellow trench coat, Dick Tracy Junior, and Pat Patton. This side is divided into six illustrated mission targets with assigned point values: Rescuing Dick and Pat (5000), Rescuing Junior (3000), Recovery of the Naval Code (2000), Recovery of the Lost Letters (1000), Recovery of the Missing Jewels (500), and Recovery of the Stolen Bonds (500). The reverse side features a traditional concentric ring target design with a central yellow bullseye worth 500 points, surrounded by rings worth 300, 200, and 100 points. The four corners feature auxiliary targets: searchlights at the top (400 points) and ducks at the bottom (400 points). A Double Score horseshoe graphic is located at the bottom center of the reverse side. The board includes a circular manufacturer mark on the front bottom center containing the text Made in United States of America around the perimeter with Mar Toys and New-York, N.Y. in the center. Below the logo, the text states Licensed by Famous Artists Synd. 1941. A similar Mar Toys logo appears within the horseshoe graphic on the back.
