Description

This assortment consists of a variety of precision measuring and layout tools related to the machinist and blacksmith trades. The group features three oversized forged steel double calipers, often utilized in blacksmithing or heavy metal fabrication; the largest example features a decorative heart-shaped handle and a locking arc mechanism with the stamped mark JOS. SECUNDA. Precision instrumentation includes a Brown and Sharpe No. 795 wiggler set in its original blue vinyl pouch and several micrometers, including a Brown and Sharpe example with frame initials L.T.H. Also present is a Gem dial test indicator in a black velvet-lined case from Cleveland, Ohio. Specialized tools include a Weston electrical light meter in a brown leather protective case, a heavy cast iron surface gauge base with an adjustable rod and scriber, and a combination square head. The collection is rounded out by several spring-joint dividers, outside calipers, drift punches, center punches, and stainless steel machinist rules, including a Starrett example. Various components feature hand-engraved owner marks such as L.T.H. and R.T. Rule shown in images measures 12 inches in length. Largest double caliper measures approximately 18 inches in length.
