Description
A lithographed metal advertising wall thermometer produced for 9-Lives cat food. The thermometer features a tapered pillar shape with a white ground and multi-color graphics. The top portion displays an illustration of an orange tabby cat reaching for a can of 9-Lives Soft Moist Cat Food, accompanied by the slogan a flavor for even the most finicky pet. The base of the unit features the 9-Lives brand logo and the tagline for a healthier pet. The central area contains a glass thermometer tube with a dual temperature scale: Fahrenheit ranging from -50 to 120 degrees and Celsius ranging from -40 to 50 degrees. Printed alongside the temperature scale is a comprehensive list of brand flavors, including beef, liver platter, chicken dinner, chicken liver, fish and liver feast, seafood platter, tuna and chicken, kidney and gravy, liver and gravy, liver and bacon, savor stew, and super supper. A manufacturer mark at the bottom left of the scale reads Made in U.S.A. 93, indicating a production date of 1993. The reverse of the metal sign includes a vertical wooden support strip and shows a single mounting hole at the top and bottom.
