Description
This lot features a large hand-carved wooden horse sculpture in a dynamic leaping or galloping pose. The body of the horse is stained in a dark brown finish with a semi-gloss coating. Decorative trappings are applied to the neck and torso, consisting of embossed and stamped brass panels with floral and textured patterns. These panels are further embellished with multiple inset multi-colored glass cabochons in shades of green, red, amber, and blue. The mane and tail are carved with texture, and the tail is secured with a brass ferrule mount. Metal chain reins are attached to the harness. A white adhesive inventory tag with a barcode and the number 250 is present on the front right leg. This piece is characteristic of late 20th-century decorative woodwork produced in India or Southeast Asia for the export market. Dimensions: Not provided.
