Description
This toy semi-truck and trailer set was manufactured by Smith-Miller (Smitty Toys) of California. The set features a GMC cab-over-engine (COE) tractor and a Fruehauf Silver Streak trailer. The cab and chassis are constructed of die-cast metal, and the tractor is finished in orange paint. The trailer is constructed with corrugated aluminum sides and includes a wooden floor bed insert. The tractor and trailer connect via a fifth-wheel hitch mechanism. Visible markings include a decal on the cab doors which reads Smith-Miller Smitty Toys California Famous Trucks in Miniature. The metal hubcaps are embossed with the initials S-M and are fitted with rubber tires. The trailer design features an open rear.
