Description
This lot features two United States military-style knives from the World War II era. The first is a PAL RH-36 combat knife. The ricasso is stamped with the manufacturer mark RH, a circular PAL logo, and MADE IN U.S.A. – 36. This knife features a single-edged carbon steel blade with a fuller, a straight steel crossguard, and a stacked leather washer handle. The pommel is cast aluminum and shows hand-incised tally marks resembling III. The second is an E.G. Waterman utility knife, often referred to as an E.G.W. knife. The ricasso is stamped in block letters with E.G.W. KNIFE. It features a steel blade with a clip point profile and a sharpened top swedge, a steel crossguard, and a stacked leather washer handle. The steel pommel includes an integral lanyard ring. Both knives are paired with period-correct brown leather sheaths featuring riveted construction and snap-button retention straps.
