Description
A metal advertising sign for Chief Paints, a brand historically associated with the Chicago Paint Works. The sign features a rectangular form with a high-gloss black background. The left side of the sign is decorated with a stylized graphic of a Native American man wearing a large, ornate feathered headdress rendered in white, orange, and yellow. To the right of the illustration, the words CHIEF PAINTS are printed in large, bold, yellow sans-serif block letters arranged in two rows. The sign is constructed from painted or lithographed metal and includes pre-drilled mounting holes along the upper edge. Based on market consensus, this design dates to the late 1950s or early 1960s.
