Description
A utilitarian circular stone disc, possibly a small millstone or grinding wheel component, hand-carved from an earthy-toned, fine-grained sedimentary stone. The object features a central square-cut aperture designed to accommodate a square axle or shaft to prevent slipping during rotation. The surfaces show evidence of uniform wear, natural mottling, and a weathered patina consistent with historical use and age. No maker marks or inscriptions are present on the stone surface. Diameter: 4.25 inches Central aperture: 0.75 inches Thickness: Approximately 1 inch.
