Description
This lot features a manual kitchen mixer set consisting of a clear pressed-glass measuring vessel and a matching mechanical beater. The jar is designed with a square-sided body and an octagonal pedestal base. It includes embossed graduated scales on three panels for kitchen measurements: Standard Measuring Cups (1 to 4 cups), Pound Flour Sifted Even Full (marked in quarter-pound increments), and Liquid Weights (4 oz, 8 oz, 12 oz, and 1 pound). The top assembly consists of a gear-driven manual hand-crank beater with a wire whisk attachment and a spring-grip handle. The underside of the glass base bears the embossed HA trademark of the Hazel-Atlas Glass Company. The metal crank frame is marked with a diamond containing the letters A and J, identifying the manufacturer as the A. and J. Manufacturing Company of Binghamton, New York. The drive wheel is embossed with patent information.
