Description
A pair of American utilitarian wash boilers manufactured by Revere Copper and Brass. Each tub is constructed from formed sheet copper with horizontal structural ribbing and rolled rims. One tub includes its matching copper lid, which features a central wooden grip handle. The interiors of the tubs show a silvery lining, characteristic of tin or zinc plating used to prevent copper from staining garments during the laundry process. The side handles consist of wrought metal brackets riveted to the body, supporting turned wooden grips. The manufacturer’s mark REVERE is partially stamped on the handle brackets of the lidded boiler.
