Description
A contemporary Buddy L Outdoor Railroad side-dump car, based on the original designs by the Moline Pressed Steel Co. of East Moline, Illinois. The car is constructed from heavy-gauge pressed steel and features a high-gloss teal paint finish. It is equipped with a functional side-dumping mechanism where the main bed tilts to discharge cargo, supported by chains and a pivoting frame. The chassis includes heavy-duty functional couplers at both ends made of die-cast metal. External markings include three separate red and black decals on the sides of the bed reading BUDDY L, OUTDOOR, and RAILROAD. Both ends of the chassis bear red decals with the designation BL-12. A manufacturer label is affixed to the chassis and reads The BUDDY L Line, QUALITY TOYS, PAT APPLIED FOR, BUILT BY, MOLINE PRESSED STEEL CO., EAST MOLINE, ILL. The item is accompanied by a modern two-piece white styrofoam protective storage box.
