Description
This O-gauge commemorative model set was produced by Lionel Trains Incorporated, identified as model 6-18008, to celebrate the 35th anniversary of Disneyland. The set features a 4-4-0 American-style steam locomotive and matching tender, modeled after the Disneyland Railroad Engine No. 4, the Ernest S. Marsh. The locomotive features a die-cast body with a blue boiler, red cab and pilot, and polished gold-tone domes, bell, and whistle. The cab side is marked with the number 4. The coordinating red tender is lettered Disneyland Railroad and features a Disneyland 35th Anniversary commemorative logo, topped with a molded plastic log fuel load. The set is presented on a section of three-rail O-gauge track within a clear acrylic display case with a finished wooden base. A silver-tone metal plaque mounted to the base is inscribed: LIONEL DISNEYLAND 35TH ANNIVERSARY COMMEMORATIVE ENGINE AND TENDER MADE IN AMERICA BY LIONEL TRAINS INCORPORATED.
