Description
This is an industrial blind stitch sewing machine head manufactured by the American Blind Stitch Machine Company of New York. The machine is constructed with a heavy cast iron frame finished in black paint or japanning, housing complex steel and iron mechanical components. The circular base features gold-toned stenciled lettering that reads THE AMERICAN BLIND STITCH MACH. NEW YORK U.S.A. alongside manufacturer identification marks. Designed for specialized tailoring tasks like creating nearly invisible hems, the machine incorporates a curved needle mechanism, a spring-loaded presser foot assembly, and various thread tensioning components. The drive system at the rear consists of a large flywheel and two separate pulleys for connection to an external power source. The mechanical linkages and needle bar appear to be present and intact.
