Description
28x 19x 40. This slant-front desk, also known as a secretary or bureau, is designed in the American Colonial Revival style and likely dates to the mid-20th century. The piece is constructed from wood featuring decorative figured veneers, with prominent book-matched panels on the drawer fronts and lower cabinet doors. The top section consists of a slant-front lid that opens on metal stay hinges to provide a flat writing surface and access to an undivided interior compartment. Below the writing area are two side-by-side drawers. The base of the unit is a two-door cabinet that opens to reveal a single full-width interior shelf. The desk is fitted with simple round metal knobs and features locks on the slant-front and lower doors; one skeleton-style key is present in the lower right door. No manufacturer marks, labels, or stamps are visible on the piece.
