Lot 486:
Description
A lot of two antique metal household items consisting of a cast iron trivet and a cylindrical canister. The trivet features an openwork design with a heart-shaped handle at the top, decorative scrollwork, and leaf motifs leading to a fan-shaped base with a central starburst pattern. This form is characteristic of trivets produced for glue melting pots. The second item is a cylindrical metal canister, likely tin or steel, with a blackened finish. The body features horizontal ribbing and a wire bail handle attached to side lugs. The matching lid has concentric circular ridges and a central turned knob. A paper auction tag from Atlee Raber Auctions, marked Canfield and numbered 486, is attached to the wire handle of the canister.
