Description
This travel vanity necessaire set consists of a gilded brass box and an assortment of interior accessories. The compact, footed box is constructed from metal sheets featuring dense, die-stamped repeating geometric and floral patterns with central floral medallions. It is designed with a slanted hinged lid and stands on four small cast ball feet. The interior contains an assortment of items, including two small, square-bodied glass bottles with fitted metal caps, a pair of miniature scissors, two small metal spatulas or ear spoons, and a writing implement or stylus. No maker marks, signatures, or identifiable characters are visible on the exterior or interior surfaces of the box or its components. The style and construction suggest a 19th-century European origin.
