Description
This lot consists of two eagle-themed decorative pieces. The primary item is a German stoneware beer stein produced by the Simon Peter Gerz factory. The central body features a polychrome scene of an eagle arriving at a nest with two chicks in a mountain setting. The vessel is accented with green-glazed relief borders at the top and bottom with a braided knot design, and a scroll-decorated handle. It features a hinged pewter lid with a hand-painted bald eagle finial perched on a rocky base. The underside bears the factory mark W. Germany Original Gerzit Gerz. The interior of the pewter lid is stamped DRM above a stylized symbol. The second item is a cast gray resin or composite figurine of a perched eagle on a rocky outcrop. The piece has a matte finish and detailed feathering. A molded copyright symbol is located on the reverse of the base.
