Lot 349:
Description
This table lamp features a jar-form stoneware base in the style of American folk art pottery revival, resembling works by makers such as Eldreth Pottery or Rowe Pottery Works. The ceramic body displays two small lug handles at the shoulder and is finished in a speckled, semi-gloss buff-colored glaze. The front of the base is decorated with a hand-painted floral motif consisting of a stylized central tulip flanked by wheat-ear and leaf patterns in dark green and black tones. A turned wooden neck piece serves as a spacer between the ceramic base and the brass-toned electrical hardware. The lamp is paired with a tapered drum-style pleated fabric shade in a dark teal color. It is equipped with a standard brass-toned socket, a black turn-knob switch, and a brown plastic cord.
