Lot 179A:
Description
A two-light table lamp in the Neoclassical or Federal Revival style, constructed from brass and cast metal. The lamp features a circular, stepped, and weighted base decorated with a gadrooned or fluted pattern. A fluted columnar pedestal stem rises to a central brass orb. Two adjustable S-curved brass arms extend from the orb, each supporting a downward-facing socket. The lamp is topped with a cast metal finial depicting an eagle with outspread wings perched upon a small globe. The lamp is fitted with two bell-shaped art glass shades. These shades are cranberry opalescent with a repeating coin spot pattern and feature crimped, ruffled rims. The opalescence transitions from a pink cranberry hue at the top to a milky white at the edges. No manufacturer marks or signatures were identified on the piece. A white paper lot tag marked 195A is attached to one arm.
