Lot 171:
Description
This wall-mounted architectural salvage drying rack dates to the late 19th or early 20th century. The unit consists of three solid hardwood arms mounted to a heavy-duty cast iron pivoting wall bracket. The central iron mechanism is engineered to allow the arms to fan out independently for hanging laundry or herbs, and then fold together vertically to lie flat against the wall when not in use. The hardware includes a top hinge and a series of grooved circular plates that facilitate and guide the movement of the wooden slats. No manufacturer’s name, patent dates, or model numbers are visible on the metal or wooden components.
