Description
This large scale decorative biplane model features a hand carved wooden fuselage and wings with integrated metal components. The aircraft is designed as a single seat biplane with scalloped trailing edges on both the upper and lower wings. The construction includes metal wing struts, a metal landing gear assembly, and a two blade metal propeller at the nose. An open cockpit contains a fixed pilot figure wearing a vintage style flight helmet and goggles. The landing gear consists of two large spoked metal main wheels and a smaller metal tail wheel. The model is finished in a uniform dark reddish brown paint, while the metal parts show a dark patinated finish. Both the propeller and the wheels are manually rotatable. There are no manufacturer marks or signatures visible on the item. The piece is currently outfitted with chains for ceiling suspension.
