Description
This early 20th-century shaving stand is constructed from a silver-toned metal, likely nickel-plated brass or white metal. It features a weighted, tiered circular base supporting a telescopic central pedestal with a thumb screw for height adjustment. A circular mirror head is mounted on a tilting yoke at the top, featuring a beveled glass plate on one side and a black surface with an embossed foliate pattern on the reverse. A swiveling metal arm attached to the column holds a white milk glass shaving mug. Inside the mug is a cylindrical metal canister embossed with COLGATE’S SHAVING STICK and a lid with a stylized C & Co monogram.
