Description
This lot consists of two hand-cast and hand-painted tuxedo cat sculptures produced by Sandicast and designed by artist Sandra Brue. One figurine depicts a large seated tuxedo cat looking toward its left side, while the second figurine shows a medium-sized tuxedo cat carrying a tuxedo kitten in its mouth. Both pieces feature highly detailed, textured surfaces mimicking fur and realistic inset green eyes. The underside of the mother cat figurine bears a silver foil manufacturer label reading SANDICAST, THIS ORIGINAL SANDICAST SCULPTURE HAS BEEN HANDCAST AND HANDPAINTED IN SAN DIEGO, CALIFORNIA USA, and COPYRIGHT 1992 S. BRUE. The base also contains an incised cursive signature reading Sandra Brue. The figurines are constructed from a heavy cast composite material.
