Description
This lot consists of a pair ofkitchen canisters crafted from clear pressed glass. Each canister features a square footprint with rounded corners and prominent vertical fluted ribbing around the body. The jars are designed with wide mouths and flared rims. The set is topped with matching decorative metal lids, likely composed of a pewter-toned alloy or cast white metal. Each lid is surmounted by a detailed rooster finial standing on a base of cast leaves. The outer edge of the lids is decorated with an embossed foliate or laurel leaf border. The undersides of the lids contain the hardware used to secure the finials and include plastic or rubber gaskets designed for a secure seal. No maker marks, hallmarks, or signatures are visible on either the glass bodies or the metal lids.
