Description
mid-20th century United States military field equipment comprising several individual components. The group features a Model M-1950 pressurized single-burner gasoline cooking stove. This unit consists of an olive drab steel fuel fount with a brass pump and an aluminum burner assembly. The tank displays a yellow instructional label and partial manufacturer markings for Coleman. Included with the stove is a two-part nesting aluminum canister that functions as a carrying case and cooking vessels. Also present is a U.S. M-1945 Meat Can mess kit made of stainless steel, consisting of a pan with a folding handle and a divided nesting lid. The handle is stamped with U.S., E.A. CO., and 1945. Completing the collection is an aluminum canteen with a black plastic screw-cap and a tan canvas carrier. The carrier is stamped U.S. and is hand-named in black ink to G.W. FRANCIS with an accompanying service number. The cover utilizes Lift-the-Dot fasteners and includes a wire belt hanger.
