Description
This is aprofessional sign for a law office, likely dating from the mid-to-late 20th century. The sign features the words LAW OFFICE in a bold, sans-serif block font with a black drop-shadow to create a three-dimensional effect. The lettering is reverse-applied to the glass. The word LAW is rendered in a textured, hand-applied gold leaf with an aged patina, while the word OFFICE is finished in a brighter, reflective metallic foil. The piece is housed in a black wooden frame featuring a narrow gold-toned inner fillet. The reverse is sealed with brown paper and includes a framer label for Jack Daley Creative Picture Framing, 447 Fair Avenue N.W., New Phila., Ohio 44663. A Kiko Auctioneers tag is attached to the hanging wire.
