Description
This collection consists of several decorative and utilitarian objects dating from the late 19th through the mid-20th century. Included is an embossed copper alloy pitcher, in the style of Peerage England, featuring a wrap-around repousse tavern scene with figures in a rustic village setting. The pitcher is constructed with a flared rim and a soldered strap handle. Also included are two wall-mounted cast metal double match holders, attributed to Sexton, each featuring two vertical pockets with shell-fluted bases and a scrolled backplate with a central mounting hole. One holder retains a black finish, while the second shows an aged blue-grey finish. The lot further includes a Victorian-style rectangular wooden presentation box with a lid featuring two inset chromolithographic panels depicting children in garden and boating scenes. The interior is lined with pleated fuchsia-colored fabric. Completing the assortment is a cardboard egg shipping carton with original interior dividers, printed with blue ink graphics of chickens and the word EGGS on multiple sides.
