Original WWII era Red Cross Diary penned by a US soldier stationed on Kiska & Shemya Islands (Aleutian Islands Alaska) 1943-1944, with notations about the Dec 25 1943 freezing death of fellow soldier Willy Ryan, B-18 plane crash (5 buried on Kiska), his time working on the military anti-aircraft Radars placed on the island, notations of Lt. Robert Dougal and Lt. McCoy, bombings of the Russian Japanese base Paramashiro, working on "Roberts Ridge" (named after Lt. Dougal who set up the Radar Units) along with soldier life on the island. The book measures 5 1/2" x 2 1/2", misspellings and minor age to the paper, stapled binding is intact. The wartime photos were found online along with information on the death memorial for Corp. William S Ryan (Willy) and notes from a interview with Lt. Robert Dougal – when he was in his 90s – about his WWII era military time on the Aleutian Islands.
