US 1943 Lincoln Steel Wheat Cents
Description
An emergency wartime issue of US Lincoln Wheat cents dated 1943. Struck in zinc-coated steel to conserve copper for the war effort, the coins feature the Lincoln portrait obverse and the paired ears of wheat reverse. The grouping includes examples from the Philadelphia Mint without mint marks, as well as branch mint issues. The coins are accompanied by a clear plastic bag marked in black marker reading 25 steel pennies.
