Lot 486:
Sold for: $40
Description
This lot features a collection of primitive wooden slats likely manufactured from pine or cedar. The pieces are characterized by an elongated, tapered form ending in a point at one or both ends. The wood shows evidence of early industrial milling with visible saw marks and a rough-hewn texture. One board is prominently stenciled in black ink with the text NEY LUMBER CO. GLASS NEY, OHIO. Another board contains hand-written markings in blue grease pencil reading NEY. The construction features unfinished edges and a weathered, aged finish throughout the group. These items represent industrial mercantile ephemera from the early 20th century, specifically associated with regional lumber and glass manufacturing in Ney, Ohio.
