Description

41.5 x 6.5 inches. Adjustable. An adjustable fireplace fender constructed from oak with a dark-stained finish. The piece is designed in the Jacobean Revival style, featuring barley twist (solomonic) railings supported by turned, block-form corner and end posts. The fender is composed of three sections, utilizing a telescoping mechanism that allows the width to be adjusted to accommodate various hearth sizes. The central front rail consists of a hollowed-out box section that slides over the two side rail components. The reverse side, intended to face the hearth, is reinforced with a rusted iron or steel plate featuring two horizontal sliding bolt tracks and screw fasteners to lock the width in place. No manufacturer stamps, signatures, or labels are present on the wood or metal components.
