Description
A collection of brass and brass-plated items featuring a variety of decorative and utilitarian forms. The group includes several pieces of brass hollowware, notably a tripod censer with two handles shaped like elephant heads and a body decorated with relief scenes of figures in a landscape (photo 10), and three matching cups with etched designs of bamboo stalks and birds (photo 2). Decorative objects comprise a cast brass bookend in the form of a three-masted sailing ship with crosses on the sails (photo 8), a figural hand bell topped with a golfer in mid-swing (photo 5), and three candlesticks, including one with a flared base decorated with colorful floral enamel work featuring red roses and green foliage (photo 6). The assortment also contains two small bud vases with scalloped rims, a small lidded bowl with a pierced top (photo 1), and a brass plumb bob. hardware components include three drawer knobs, one with an embossed sunburst and foliate pattern (photo 7), and a pair of four-arm faucet handles featuring white ceramic index buttons marked HOT and COLD in black block lettering (photo 7).Measurements/notes: Largest 6 in.
