Description
A Chinese hand-painted porcelain cabinet plate featuring a central medallion depicting a group of figures in traditional Japanese dress, including samurai and geisha under a red parasol, set within a landscape of cherry blossoms, mountains, and a bridge. The central scene is enclosed by a wide, dark green border decorated with raised turquoise enamel dots and large polychrome floral blossoms with gilt outlines. The reverse of the plate features an all-over crackle-glazed cream finish. A red printed backstamp on the base reads HAN DPAINIED / ROYAL SATSUMA / ??????. The Chinese characters translate to China Ceramic Fine Product. The plate is accompanied by a three-footed black display stand. Measured across the widest point, the plate is 12.25 inches in diameter.
