Description
This is a two-piece United States Army Green Service Uniform, commonly referred to as Class A Greens. The set consists of a four-button tunic and matching trousers in the standard AG 344 Army Green shade. The tunic is constructed from a blend of 60 percent polyester and 40 percent wool. It features the shoulder sleeve insignia of the 173rd Airborne Brigade, known as the Sky Soldiers, on the left shoulder, which displays a white wing and red bayonet on a blue shield. Both sleeves are adorned with Specialist 4 rank insignia featuring a yellow eagle on a green background. The tunic retains its original gold-tone buttons featuring the Great Seal of the United States. An interior label in the tunic specifies the material composition and care instructions, while a size tag identifies it as a 37S with NSN 8405-965-1609. The matching trousers are labeled Trousers, Men’s Polyester/Wool Tropical AG 344 Class 3 and were manufactured by Tennessee Apparel Corp. under contract DLA-100-80-C-3630, dating the production to the 1980 fiscal year. A circular black ink stamp containing the number 2 is present on the interior pocket bag of the trousers.
