Vanguard Thermosonic V5-40 Fire Alarm
Description
This is a Vanguard Thermosonic Model V5-40 FT heat detector fire alarm manufactured by Interstate Engineering, a division of A-T-O Inc. This mechanical, single-station safety device is designed to operate independently without external wiring. The unit features a large convex metal dome with a brass-toned finish. A recessed chrome-finished four-prong guard at the center protects a heat-sensitive fuse element. The reverse of the alarm consists of a black plastic base housing a metal wind-up mechanism labeled POWER KEY with a directional arrow. The central fuse is stamped with the text DO NOT PAINT 136F. A large, legible manufacturer’s label on the backplate identifies the model and provides technical specifications, including its UL listing and installation instructions. Diameter: 7 in
