Description
This US military aviation ground support tool is a duct plug manufactured by Apache Enterprises, Inc. of Grand Prairie, Texas. The tool is designed to seal an aircraft intake or exhaust duct while the aircraft is on the ground to prevent foreign object debris from entering sensitive systems. The plug is constructed from a curved metal plate finished in high-visibility red paint and features a sturdy integral handle. The underside is fitted with a red fabric-covered cushion designed to provide a secure, non-marring seal against the aircraft skin. A red fabric safety streamer is attached to the plug, featuring the white screen-printed warning REMOVE BEFORE FLIGHT. A black and silver metal identification plate is riveted to the top surface, providing the following information: APACHE ENTERPRISES, INC. / GRAND PRAIRIE, TX.
