Description
An antique mechanical cash register manufactured by The National Cash Register Company of Dayton, Ohio. This Model 722 unit features a metal case finished with a faux mahogany wood-grain pattern and is fitted with a rectangular white milk glass top shelf. The front keyboard consists of two rows of metal lever keys with circular denomination pads: dollar amounts from five dollars down to one dollar, tens of cents from ten to ninety, single cents from one to nine, and a dedicated No Sale key. Transaction values are indicated by pop-up flags visible behind glass at the top of the unit. The register includes a front-facing lock cylinder and a hinged top lid that allows access to internal mechanical counters labeled Customer Counter and No Sale. The manufacturer brand name National is prominently displayed in white script on both the front and back panels. A brass identification plate mounted on the top is stamped with the serial number 3575782 and model number 722. 13x16x17
