Description
59×26 A large antique industrial hand cart or market barrow constructed from heavy wooden planks and iron hardware. The cart features a rectangular wooden box bed reinforced with iron strapping and corner brackets. It is mounted on two large diameter wooden spoked wheels, each with sixteen spokes, iron hubs, and iron tires. The push handle is composed of iron supports with a weathered wooden crossbar handle. The interior floor consists of wide longitudinal planks reinforced with transverse metal strips. The interior floorboards bear hand-lettered markings in faded white paint or chalk reading No. 4514 on the top line and PITTSBURG on the bottom line.
