Description

21.3 gram This pair of vintage spectacles was manufactured by the Shuron Optical Company. The frames are constructed from 1/10 12-karat gold-filled metal, featuring the Ful-Vue design where the temples are positioned at the upper portion of the round rims. The bridge and rims are decorated with fine engraved patterns. The spectacles include flexible cable-style temples with a dark tortoiseshell-patterned celluloid covering. The nose pads are made of an early plastic material. Currently, the frames are fitted with round prescription glass lenses. The underside of the bridge is stamped with the manufacturer marks SHURON 1/10 12K GF and FUL-VUE. The spectacles are accompanied by a brown textured hardshell case with a dark velvet interior. The inner lip of the case is gold-stamped with provenance identifying the former owner as DR. WM. M. LYTLE WOOSTER, OHIO.
