Description
12x12x4 in working condition This is a Monarch Pioneer manual portable typewriter, a budget-friendly model manufactured by Remington Rand during the 1930s. The machine features a metal body with a black crinkle finish. It is designed with a simplified three-bank, 32-key QWERTY layout using a double-shift mechanism. The circular keys feature metal rims, and the number keys 2 through 5, the letter O, and the shift key are highlighted with red backgrounds. The top plate above the typebar segment is clearly marked with the manufacturer and model name MONARCH PIONEER. A serial number, C 1 1 8 2 3 5, is stamped into the metal frame on the right side above the keyboard. The typewriter is housed in a matching hardshell carrying case with a textured black exterior, two metal latches, and a leather-wrapped handle.
